Nate was very active as a child and frequently outside, skateboarding, snowboarding and playing sports like soccer and baseball. Several injuries led to numerous doctor visits – until one physician spoke with him about steps he could take to prevent future injury. Now, as a Family and Sports Medicine Physician, Nate uses first hand experience to help his patients get and stay healthy.

As Associate Medical Director of the Twin Cities Marathon, Nate’s niche is working with endurance athletes. A number of his patients are long distance runners, but he also works with cross county skiers, century riders and tri-athletes.

Nate’s practice at Edina Sports + Family Medicine offers him the opportunity to marry his sports medicine expertise with his passion for preventive care. His patients appreciate his compassionate approach as he meets people where they are to optimize their situation. “My goal is to use as few drugs as needed to help my patients manage or prevent disease like diabetes, obesity or hypertension,” he says.

When he’s not working, Nate loves to spend time with his wife, daughter and son. Whether it’s hiking, camping, or snowboarding they love to be outdoors and be active. They also love music and often play acoustic guitar together.
